Summer 2- Week 6 :)

Green class it has been so lovely seeing so much learning on Tapestry. Thank you so much to everyone uploading pictures on to Tapestry. If you are having problems accessing Tapestry please do get in touch.
It doesn't matter if it is not the home learning I am sending out. It is just nice keeping in touch with the children. Also it gives others nice ideas of things to do at home.

Isabella has visited the beach.

Isabella has been reading lots :)

Florence has used leaves and petals to make jewellery :)

Sophia has been practising her times tables and is doing a great job!

Florence practising subtraction.

Mini-beast hunt

Jessica practising her long jump!

Additional things to do at home:

  • Visiting the beach can be lots of fun and educational. You could give your child a budget and ask them to work out how much ice-creams for the family would cost. You could get them to do a mini-beast/sea creature hunt, rock pooling, measuring on the beach, look for shells or pebbles and sort them. Paint some pebbles from the beach, learn about tides and waves. You could also look at erosion.
  • Find out more about the 7 natural wonders of the world
  •  Aurora Borealis
  • Rio de Janeiro

  • Get creative and create pictures based on the 7 natural wonders. This video is a chalk craft making Aurora Borealis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzMYiMXlv9w&safe=active (Please check that you are happy with the video including adverts and comments before showing your child)
  • Make a paper mache Mount Everest

  • Create a model of the Great Barrier Reef
  • You could also pick a natural wonder and find out lots more and create an information pack for us to all learn more.
  • We would be studying athletic in PE this half term so you could teach your child some of these skills. The links below (please check content) show long jump. You could practice this in your garden, park or beach. This shows athletes doing the long jump https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nhD8R6nAhQ&safe=active This shows how to teach a technique.
  • Learn some sign language together.
Have a lovely weekend :)
