Summer Week 1-Home learning :)

Summer Week 1 - Home learning

Thank you to everyone that I have had emails and pictures from. It has been lovely seeing what your children have been up to. I have posted some pictures below so the children can see each others learning. Hopefully this will make them smile and see that their friends are happy and well :)

Erin's weather diary!

Awesome adjectives!

3 times tables work, super job!

Science work :)

Awesome Maths work!

Even if it is not on the home learning plan but you have been doing something different at home, for example your child has been decorating, gardening, baking or cooking, sewing etc it would be lovely to hear from you and I can share these ideas with others. That way the children get to see each other :)

Some ideas to go with home learning next week:

  • Make a rock museum: Get your child to collect stones of different shapes, sizes and colours, and arrange them in a way that pleases them – for example, by size.
Encourage them to use a magnifying glass to examine each stone and write a label or make an annotated drawing explaining its characteristics.
  • Ice cube building: ice cubes make brilliant building blocks for constructing icehouses, igloos and fairy gardens. Get your child to pour different colours of juices into an ice cube tray, or add berries, chopped herbs or small flowers to each section. Then let them experiment with building different structures with the frozen cubes.
  • Gardening and planting
  • Sewing
  • Learning to cook dinner
  • Making a desert
  • Footprint fun: Try gathering up a selection of shoes from around the house, and look at what sort of footprint they would make. Stand in a shallow tray of water then walk along the garden path, comparing the different sizes and shapes of the footprints. Have a go at walking backwards, jumping or hopping and see how that changes them.
  • Den making
  • Making jewellery
  • NHS project attached to home learning email have lots of ideas on too.
Have a lovely weekend, looking forward to hearing from you next week :)

Easter holidays

Easter Holidays

I do not expect you to carry on learning over the Easter holidays at all. In fact would encourage you to
make the most of family time. Play games, bake, watch films and get in the garden. However, a few
people have mentioned they would like to keep some ‘normality’ over Easter with learning at home. Please look back over the class blog from last week. There have been some useful links for extra
things to do and online learning links. If you are looking for some extra links the below links may help.
I will not be setting work but below are some useful links if you need them. If you want some more
practical things to do they have their normal homework in their home learning books.

If your child is worried or is looking for some calming games to play online these are useful.
Child line has created these to help relax and calm children in the current climate of Covid-19

Rainbow trail :)

Rainbow Trail-Artists needed :)

I have uploaded some art/science ideas that are based on rainbows for this afternoon or the rest of the week. I thought some of you would enjoy them :)

NHS Nightingale, the new hospital are looking to brighten up their new walls. They are looking for mini artists!  You may want to make a picture for staff and patients or a beautiful rainbow. Make a picture on A4 and take a photo and use twitter to post your child's picture using the hashtag #RainbowsForNightingale

(Tip-you can add food colouring to make them coloured)

I have loved all the rainbow outfits I have seen so far :) It is not too late to send yours in :)

Thank you to Sophie and Mia for sharing some home learning with everyone. Keep up the hard work everyone :)

Have a super Easter!
